Education & outreach
Led by Morehouse College.
Emerald Cloud Lab currently serves industrial customers, including large pharmaceutical companies. A central aim of this project is to open these facilities to researchers who have never before had access to automated experimentation — and to train a workforce fluent in AI, biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing.
Who we are recruiting
Our outreach work targets faculty and student researchers across R1, R2, primarily undergraduate, and two-year institutions, as well as nonprofit research labs, government labs, startups, and small businesses. Users range from trainees to established investigators, and our onboarding activities are designed for that whole range — from single-instrument experiments to workflows spanning multiple PCL nodes.
Node ambassadors
Morehouse undergraduates who assist other trainees in using the node and serve as outreach liaisons introducing K–12 students to autonomous science
Undergraduate curriculum
Curriculum development in the experimental sciences that includes hands-on training on cloud laboratories
Assessment
Tracking the number and type of institutions using the node, the range of new users onboarded, and growth in students’ research abilities
